Dr. Lane H. Melton

Lane H. Melton earned his Ed.D and Ed.S from Liberty University in Lynchburg Va. He earned his Masters degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University and his Bachelors degree in Bible and Theology from Columbia International University.

Dr. Melton has been working in the fields of security and protection for the past 37 years. He is proud to have served as an Agent for the South Carolina Senate Sergeant At Arms providing executive protection to State Senators, U.S. Congressional Members and dignitaries.

He also served as a Radioman in the U.S. Navy serving on board the USS Samuel E. Morison FFG 13. After the Navy, Dr. Melton worked for national defense contractors serving the U.S. Navy. He went on to start Surantec Security Group and worked with the Department of Homeland Security, Inspector Generals Office in Washington, DC.

Coming home to Charleston, SC, Dr. Melton worked for the Department of Justice anti-terrorism task force Project SeaHawk as the Director of Security.

Dr. Melton went on to serve at the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Center as its Operations Security and Supply Chair Risk Manager. Having worked all over the country in various security capacities both technically and physically, Dr. Melton always found time to fulfill his life’s calling of teaching. Serving in higher education both as adjunct/full time faculty as well as a university administrator, Dr. Melton has taught in the areas of information assurance and protection, Cybersecurity, Cyber Warfare, telecommunications, networking, and information systems. He specializes in Human Intelligence Gathering, Social Engineering, and Espionage Techniques.
